My Art

I sell my work on Etsy!
Art supports my mental health 🙂

I call this one “Vermeer in Watercolor”

I started her at the beginning of the pandemic, and she took a few months to complete

She is now part of my private collection

What kind of art do I do?

I do all kinds!
I have lately been working on acrylic abstracts, but I also love working with watercolor and oil paints. I’m obsessed with anything crafty, and have countless embroidery, cross stitch, and crochet projects sitting around my house.
I enjoy some of the more technical aspects of art, and I appreciate the art eras of Italian and Flemish Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo, but I also like impressionists, like Van Gogh and Degas, 1980s street art, such as Haring and Basquiat, and contemporary stars, like Banksy and Kusama.
One series I especially love creating are watercolor butterflies that I put inside specimen frames. You can see them above!
I hope to incorporate more awareness of my research work in both Global Mental Health and Violent Extremism into my art.
I participate in art festivals local to the Somerville, MA area, and I’m always happy to do art collabs with other artists!

“Art can heal the world”

This butterfly to the right, “Lycaenidae No. 1,” was auctioned during the International Mental Health Association’s Creativity and Wellness Art Auction. The auction helped raise $375 for IMHA!
